A Third Year of Ridiculous Radio Plays
Saturday 24 January 2026
It's back! For a third year we present a selection of new radio plays specially written for this unique event.
With live sound effects, a host of crazy characters (sometimes played by just one actor!) and far-fetched storylines, this promises to be an evening of extreme and inventive theatre!
This year's line up is:
The Unsolvable Room
by Shaun Penton
No Pressure, No Blame, No Re-enactments!
by Sue Penton
Set in a Speed Awareness Classroom, long suffering Pat, the course instructor, attempts to guide her attendees through the perils of speeding and to learn how to be more considerate drivers. Which isn’t as easy as she thinks!
Hard Evidence – Episode 1: “Hands On”
by Adam Urey
Detective Jack Steele gets involved with a piece of Internal Affairs equipment that’s highly sensitive, easily excited, and cannot stand being mishandled. The harder Steele grips, tries to keep it upright, and insists he’s in control, the more it reacts: warming up, making noises, and threatening to go off in public. If he can’t learn when to stop touching it, the whole station could be exposed!
